You’ve seen an exhibition, a film, a performance, an artist’s book etc. and want to write a review about it?

You’re an artist, and you want to share your artist statement/thoughts/working process along with a sample of your visual work with us?

You’re an art historian or a curator and want to share your thoughts about something of or related to visual culture?

You’re none of the above but you still have a strong idea for a visual essay?

Then we want to hear from you! If you want to see your work published in Sketchbook, drop us a line to rebekasara.szigethy@szofa.eu, and send us the following attached to your email:

  • Your text (essay, review etc.) in Word compatible format (no more than 800 words);
  • All visual material related to your text in a ZIP file not larger than 20MB. This can include up to 5 pictures (in JPEG format) and/or 1 GIF file. Videos may also be submitted, but they must be in a web optimized format (MP4, MPEG etc.) and sent via WeTransfer;
  • A short third-person bio statement of up to 150 words. If you have an online portfolio or website, don’t forget to include a link to it in the bio!

Please don’t forget to properly reference the sources you used in your article (both in your text and in the visual material)! Without that, we cannot publish your work. The list of works cited and footnotes/endnotes are not included in the 800-word limit.

If your work is selected for publication, you will be asked to sign an author’s declaration. This is a prerequisite to publishing your work.

What do you get in exchange?
